Eldorado Springs, MO. - 28 April:
Click on this picture to see more pictures of the students at work    Students in Mrs. Budd's 6th grade classes spent a very windy day learning how to determine compass directions and measure the altitude of the Sun using the Sun's position in the sky and a pencil or pen as a shadow stick. They also had a look at the Sun through a solar-filtered (Hydrogen-alpha) telescope and saw some large flares and two sunspots.
